TC's Hometown

We've really had an enjoyable trip to Ohio this Christmas. The time together with TC's family, the outings with siblings, the adventures and "cultural" experiences have been greatly welcomed. We feel we've done so much since we've been here! I wanted to take time reflect on all of our festivities and wrap up my Christmas season MUST DO list.

Since we've been here, I have eaten tons of food - food we can only get in Ohio. I love eating foods local to the city I'm visiting. I feel well-versed in travel when I do. This week I've had UDF milkshakes, Skyline coneys, Penn Station subs, La Rosa's pizza and Gold Star 3-ways. I've also gone to a hockey game (a sport I have found very amusing for several years now). Obviously, hockey is not that prevalent in South Alabama. I also went snow skiing - highly terrified, I admit. However, I feel I learned quickly with great instructors like TC and my bro-in-law. With anxiety paralleling my excitement, I pushed on, semi-dominated two intermediate slopes, fell gracefully a few times, and had a blast. My sis-in-law, TC and I went to the Cincinnati Zoo to see the animals and lights. We really enjoyed our trip to the zoo and the movie We Bought a Zoo. Ohio and the Catchpoles were a lot of fun and thoughtful about our time with them.

We leave for Alabama tomorrow. A long drive ahead but thankful for the time of reflection going into the new year.

Now for a reflection on my Christmas MUST DO list....
I found snow, but didn't make a snow angel (No. 12)
I did not find/make it to a Christmas parade (No. 17). I'll have to remember to look earlier next year.
I did not get to read a Christmas book (No. 18), but do have a new book to read my wonderful hubby got me for Christmas.
And lastly, I did not build a gingerbread house this Christmas (No. 20).
All the rest were successfully checked off and enjoyed! TC was ever so mindful of things we could do to celebrate the season - even after Christmas. Thankful for hearts who continue to celebrate and joy in the season.
